  • Hey thanks for this video and sorry if this has been asked already. I have a 6400 and want to up grade to a7iii. I have seen videos of people using the same lenses but it was explained that well. Do you have any vids on that or info? I have the sigma 56mm and 35mm f1.4s. I understand they go into crop mode or something but would photos/ video look better or do you need to upgrade lenses as well?

  • @Chris Brockhurst – Great video and thanks for the info! I subbed and hope to see more great content like this.
I'm a new photographer just getting started… friend gifted me an A7ii with Sony 28-70mm kit lens. 3 of the lenses I was looking at are in your list (55mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, and 70-200mm f4). Which one should I get first? …or rather, what order should I start to get them? I mainly started getting into this hobby so I could shoot pics/video of our new baby (coming in August) and probably some landscape shots when we're on vacation. Thanks in advance for your input!

  • Has anyone had one of the motor's completely not work? When I turn on the aircross 2 the C level shakes like crazy and then shuts off. I have updated the firmware and reset the gimbal and still this continues to happen. It's almost as if it cannot figure out where it is and keeps trying to level. It literally shakes my desk when I turn it on. Any suggestions or help to fix this would be appreciated.

  • Hi Chris, I am a new subscriber and have been impressed with your channel, I have the A7 lll with Tamron's 17 28, and 28 75, I was ready to pull the trigger on the 70- 180 to complete the trinity of lenses but went with the Sony 70-200 F4 instead.
I also have the viltrox 85mm but as a manual lens which is not a problem at all, unfortunately the manual 85mm Viltrox has been discontinued recently but still a kickass lens.
I have only been shooting just over six months now and soaking up all the credible channels like yours for honest feedback and information.
I have a u tube channel "Andrew Bates" where I have been flying drones for the past four years and now looking at incorporating stills to my work.
Appreciate it if you could stop by and take a look 😀
    Many thanks Chris .
    Kind Regards
    Andy B.

  • Thank you for a informative video 🙂
I am looking to buy my first camera,
    my budget is 1 – 1.5 lakh,
    I am a hobby photographer,
    i shoot more of potraits,
looking at the options its a bit confusing,
i have thought of sony a6400 with a wide angle and a prime lens, (falls in the budget)
and few of my friends suggested me to take a full frame,
    that is
sony a7iii with wide and prime lens,
canon 6D mark 2 (falls in the budget)
Kindly suggest me which to buy

  • Very minimal difference when you swapped the 24 GM back and forth. Like you said, all depends on your needs and buy what you can afford. Keep creating!!

  • Thought I would share what is in my bag / that I own:
    Rokinon 14mm f2.8
    Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens
    Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 G Lens
Sony FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens
Sony FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS (kit lens)
    Sony FE 50mm f/1.8
    Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 G OSS
With an adapter – Tamron SP 90mm F2.8 Di Macro

I never really use the 50mm 1.8 but got it for cheap when I was starting out and have held on to it. Rarely ever use the kit lens as well.
Use(d) the 24-240 as a 'take one lens' option when on vacation and not sure what I will be needing / my "distance lens" .
Also have the 70-210 Minolta f4 beercan that will fit on my adpater along with a few 28mm 2.8 maros form my A-mount days.
having gotten a few of these recently I will mostly be using 20mm f/1.8, 16-35mm f/4, and 70-200mm f/4. I may end up going to the 24 1.4 GM lens to replace the 20mm 1.8- I am going to shoot this seasons astro with the 20mm and decide after that. Eventually would like to get the Sony 55mm f/1.4 and the 85mm f/1.8

  • Hej, thanks for a very infomative video. I got a question since the budget is limited and i am going for A7R IV. If i can only spend some more dime for only one lens, which one would you suggest? The main purpose of the camera is for experiments' data collection (1.5 meter distance facial photograph with volunteers showing different facial expressions to capture the movement of facial muscles), and recording some video documenting the experiment itself. BUT, of course I'd like to use the camera during holiday too… thanks!

  • Chris – thanks for the video!

Do you have any experience with a 24-70 f4 or f2.8? I'm thinking of a SONY but I'm hearing really good things about the canon f2.8 and am actually considering getting that and a fotodiox adapter rather than dropping a whopping $2,200 on a sony f2.8 GM…

    any thoughts?

    Thanks again.
